No, we did not fall off the planet!

Whew ... we have just been busy. And sick, can't forget that part, too.

I have to start by saying I am really, really, really glad this gymnastics season is over. I knew moving from Parks & Rec to USAG was going to swallow our checkbook and our calendar, but I didn't realize just how exhausting it would be. It sure was awesome, though!  Check out the Level 4:11 State-Winning Beam routine!

Ace placed 5th All-Around in the State!  Can I get a Hooray!?!

As spring is in full force, we're winding up Band/Guitar and Bitty Broadway, too.  I think Rockstar has decided to keep next year's classes as they are now, which will enable her to keep playing all of her three instruments instead of having to choose between flute and trumpet in the advanced class.  LilBird has been loving her Bitty Broadway class and nervously anticipates performing at Mayfest and her first recital ever this month.

So, what else have we been doing?  We've been doing math like nobody's business the past few months. It's taken precedence over most all other "schooly" subjects.  We've done a bit of studying about The Holocaust and Anne Frank, too.  We participated in a reading group and studied Where the Red Fern Grows for several weeks.  That was fun, but it seemed to take more time and effort than any of the moms involved really had.  Maybe we'll do something similar to it another time.  The girls also sat in on a fun group lesson about drawing cartoon animals.  Rockstar's moved into her new bedroom (which remains almost finished), and we are now inspired to do more home projects which are in the works.  We've also taken time out to have some fun in the wind.

Rockstar has completed the Red Cross Babysitting Bootcamp this year and I am delighted to announce she is CPR, First Aid, and Babysitter certified now. She is learning how to give insulin shots and feels comfortable with pump-wearing diabetic kids, so she is offering her services to parents of diabetic children ... definitely a niche market!  Of course, she's happy to babysit non-diabetics as well! ;) Get her while she's cheap, folks! LOL  No, really ... she is a great babysitter. She really loves kids. (And she's nearing driving age, so she's trying to acquire and save money doing something she enjoys.)

I am planning to continue schooly work through most of the summer since I anticipate actually having more free time to devote to that.  We have some fun stuff brewing for the summer, too. I apologize for the brevity and vagueness of the update, but .. it is what it is. :)
